I don’t really like asking for donations, or asking people to support a specific charity or such, but this Ramadan I heard of a super sad story which I felt touched my heart a lot. There are a few donation links that I do post and share here and there but this one just made me feel really sad, maybe because I seen it with my own eyes and didn’t understand it at first. When I was in Kashmir during my sister’s wedding I seen this broken house that had no walls and only one section had this tiny roof with makeshift walls. I just assumed that the house was under construction and that was it. But recently I found out from my cousin that those make shift walls, and roof all collapsed and that a family actually lived in there and now they have no home, due to everything falling because of the heavy rains. Also the family is safe now and faced little injuries, Thank god.

I still can’t picture that being a home, nor a family living there. Along with Covid-19 and the toll it has taken on all of our lives, and most of us have lost our jobs yet we are still blessed enough to feed our families everyday, But people like Rizwan are struggling, and don't have a home to call their own.

Rizwan worked in Saudi Arabia in a construction company, where 3 years ago the building he was working on collapsed crushing his body. His arms, legs and hands had all been crushed. The company did not help Rizwan in anyway as he was just another disposable worker who wasn't deemed a human in Saudi eyes. His friends where able to gather money for him to send him back to Kashmir to his family and pay for hospital fees, but shortly after making it home Rizwans house collapsed due to heavy rains.

Rizwan, his wife, and his 3 small children all lived in this collapsed house for 3 years now, where as a few weeks ago the broken side that they were living in also fell down and broke. Due to Rizawan not being able to work and provide an income to his family, or support them in anyway as he is disabled, they lived in that dangerous place that no one would call home, but to them it was everything. To them those broken walls where water seeps through all the time, a place that didn't shelter them from the cold weather of Kashmir was still a home and a place where they could feel safe and call their own.

I feel like every human should have the right to feel safe at-least in their own homes, and be able to have confidence in a place they can call their own, feel safe, and comfortable. I hope you can all help me with this, as I feel super strongly about helping Rizwan and I hope you do as well. I feel like it’s little things like this that we can do to help make the world a better and safer place for all mankind. And with your donations, We can all help Rizwan and his family have a safe haven where they will actually be protected, and sleep peacefully knowing that their house will not come crashing down on them.

I also hope to Build Rizwan a small shop where his family and he can run in order to make some sort of income, and a place where he can build his confidence again, and won't be discriminated for being disabled.

I need your help to make this possible, please donate generously and we can help Rizwan and his family stay safe during Covid-19, along with helping him build a home that he can call his safe haven.
