Hi, I’m Irene. I am from the Philippines and my mom is in the hospital for almost 2 months now. My sister found her without a pulse and they did all their efforts to rush my mom to the hospital. Knowing Manila traffic, it was really scary. She arrived clinically dead but was revived. She spent over a month in ICU, intubated and later we decided to agree on tracheostomy. This means her access for ventilator is on her neck. She is also a dialysis patient for 3 years now. These are all her complications because of her diabetes. So far our hospital bill racked up to over 40,000 euros and still counting. We do not have this amount of money but we are doing all we can to get my mom in better health because we can see that she is still willing to live and improve her health. My mom has a great singing voice and to see her know not able to speak really breaks my heart. Our expenses does not stop when she gets out of the hospital. I am a chef that works in Finland but currently I am here in Manila to be with my family. And also because I thought I won’t be able to be with my mom anymore. We lost our father in 2011. I have lost my savings already. We were able to get some help from the government but it is nothing compared to our total amount. Your help will all go to my mom’s care. I only put 9000 euros goal because this is embarassing enough to do this but I have to swallow my pride and ask for help. Any amount of will mean the world to me and my mom. Thank you so much!
