Hi! We are a lively group of scouts & guides from Lauritsala, in Lappeenranta, Finland. We are traveling to England this summer to take part in Essex International Jamboree. We've been working hard to raise money on our own: we've baked cakes and bread, sold socks and candy, organised events for children, done loads of gardening, cleaning and helped with moving and even changed car tires! Our group consists of 3 adults, who all work as volunteers and are not paid, and 16 young people between the ages of 12 to 18. Our goal is to make sure no-one is left behind: we want to raise enough money to ensure anyone can come despite their family background or financial status. For many of us this will be the very first time on an airplane! We are asking your help to match what our hard-working young people have raised. We are so proud of them for their spirit, enthusiasm and work ethic. ❤️ The funds raised will cover travel costs, jamboree fees, food & lodgings. We thank you for your help from the bottom of our hearts! Estimated cost of our trip: 1400€ per person, including flights (300€/pp), jamboree participation fee (this is only the program, does not include food) (£150-350/pp), food costs, hostel in London for 3 nights, trains both in Finland & UK, public transport and other mandatory costs. Same in Finnish/ Suomeksi: Moi! Me ollaan eläväinen joukko partiolaisia Lappeenrannan Lauritsalasta. Matkustamme tänä kesänä Englantiin ottaaksemme osaa Essex International Jamboree-partioleirille. Olemme ahkeroineet varainkeruun parissa, ja mm. osallistunut myyjäisiin, leiponut piirakoita, kakkuja, pullia ja leipiä, myynyt sukkia ja lakuja, tehnyt pihatöitä, siivousta, muuttoja ja jopa autonrenkaiden vaihtoa. Meidän ryhmään kuuluu 3 aikuista, jotka ovat vapaaehtoistyössä eivätkä saa palkkaa, sekä 16 nuorta, iältään 12-18. Meidän tavoitteena on kerätä niin paljon rahaa, että kenenkään ei tarvitse jäädä kotiin perheen taloudellisen tilanteen vuoksi. Tämä reissu on monelle nuorelle eka kerta lentokoneessa! Pyydämme nyt apua, jotta saamme kasaan yhtä paljon rahaa kuin tarmokkaat nuoret ovat jo saaneet kerättyä. Olemme niin ylpeitä nuoriemme innosta, ahkeruudesta ja sisusta. ❤️ Kerättyjä rahoja käytetään matkakuluihin, leirimaksuihin, ruokaan ja majoituksiin. Kiitämme kaikkia avusta sydämmiemme pohjasta!
