1. Executive Summary
This proposal seeks financial assistance for the construction of a single-storey, 5-marla house for a low-income family in Kahori, Muzaffarabad, whose home was destroyed during the recent floods. The family consists of five children and their parents, currently living in temporary and unsafe conditions.
Given Welfare aims to rebuild their home before the winter season to ensure the family’s safety, dignity, and long-term stability. The total project cost is estimated at USD 300000, and the construction is planned to be completed within three months.

Through this initiative, Given Welfare seeks to demonstrate compassion and solidarity by providing sustainable housing to a family deeply affected by natural disasters.
2. Background and Problem Statement
The Muzaffarabad region frequently experiences heavy rainfall and flash floods that damage homes and infrastructure, particularly affecting low-income families residing in vulnerable areas. One such family in Kahori, with five young children, lost their entire house during the flood.

Currently, the family resides in makeshift accommodation without proper roofing or sanitation. With winter approaching, their living conditions pose serious health and safety risks, especially to the children.
Given Welfare, recognising the urgent humanitarian need, proposes to rebuild their house using flood-resistant design and locally sourced materials. This project will not only restore a shelter but also rebuild hope, security, and dignity for the affected family.
3. Project Objectives

  2. To provide the family with a safe, weather-resistant, and hygienic living environment.
